We are looking for a software engineer with experience in functional programming and architecture to join our team.
As software engineer functional programming you will contribute to all parts of our stack, from application server and front-end to mobile app and Fitbit watchface. You can come up with new ways to extend and improve the software, and you are able to convey those to the team. You like a technical challenge and you also want to contribute something to society. Our software supports patients and their caregivers to keep their disease under control or regain their health. With your contribution, you help others and help keep healthcare costs in check.
Our Team
We love functional programming, we use a lot of Clojure and ClojureScript. We believe that writing correct software is easier if you follow those principles. It is not necessary that you have specific experience with Clojure(Script) experience, but you have extensive experience with functional programming and architecture according to functional principles. You understand the added value and can explain it to other software engineers.
Furthermore, we believe in the added value of agile software development, in all parts of our organisation, and we were doing that long before it became a hype. We work from home a lot (not exclusively), but we do have a close-knit team. Of course, that does mean that you are able to work from home without succumbing to all the distractions, but also not getting bogged down in problems for too long before contacting the team to ask for help.
Requirements
You have completed a relevant education (university/college level) or equivalent, and at least 5 years of business experience with programming, specifically also with functional programming. That does not have to be with Clojure(Script), but you do understand the principles behind functional programming and have experience in applying it (in any language). You are available 4 to 5 days a week. You like to work in a team and you are eager to learn. You live in The Netherlands (or are willing to move to The Netherlands) and you are willing to learn Dutch if you do not master it yet. We cannot offer a visa sponsorship.
